Researchers from University College London and the University of St Andrews examined the changes in views around what it means to move in with a first partner now versus years ago, as well as the strength of those partnerships. Using data from the British Household Panel Survey and the Understanding Society study, the researchers examined a study sample of 3,233 people from three birth cohorts: 1974 to 1979, 1980 to 1984 and 1985 to 1990, observed between 1991 and 2016.
